World's best coffee ![]()
This is the ultimate coffee machine. It's the coolest looking machine on the market, and the best value. Don't bother with the more expensive automatic machines (Jim :-)) - this does everything, the coffee tastes the same, and with this model, you have full control over exactly how much coffee you want.
From a marketing point of view, the Nespresso brand is masterful. Their packaging is superb, their literature does its best to make you feel like Royalty - go with it, because the coffee is magnificent. You'll also be surprised by the range of things you can do with the machine, too. My favourite is a Latte Machiato, which is a long glass filled with fabulous cappucino froth, into which you add an espresso. The result is a layer of solid milk, a layer of coffee, and a layer of froth - it looks cool and tastes great.
Costs? If you drank the same amount of coffee, I think it would be as cheap as stove-top or filter, as capsules cost 21p each, or 24p for the Lungo coffees (my friends and I however, think the espresso coffees, especially the stronger ones, taste better in the lungo cups than the lungo coffees, so save yourself the money!). I'm also drinking more decaffeinated coffee now as the decaf. intenso on offer tastes as good as any caffeinated brand. Also, you'll drink less coffee out, as nothing I've experienced, except for the coffee houses of Buenos Aires, match what you can now make in your own kitchen.
However, the coffee is that good, and so easy to make that you will find your consumption rocketing! Additionally, there are so many beautiful accessories to buy, this might further dent your budget - beautiful cups, top quality chocolates, a presentation box (it makes offering a coffee like a box of choccies).
So, if you are somebody who loves kitchen gadgets, likes some of the better things in life, and doesn't mind a big dose of pretention when offering friends and neighbours a cup of coffee, this is something you should save up for.
Best coffee machine in the world! ![]()
To keep it simple i HATED coffee before I tried a espresso from this machine, now i LOVE it and all the different strengths are great to match what kind of coffee you want. This has to be the best espresso/ capacino machine in the world without a doubt.
TIP: try dropping a small tea spoon of honey into an espresso then pour that into a glass full of ice and milk, relax and enjoy this ice coffee through a straw, great for those sunny summer afternoons.

1000 words would be superfluous - the machine in use; and in the end product, are simply superb!!
Cannot be improved upon.
end of story.
Krups Pelican The best with no Mess ![]()
When I first saw this item in Selfridges I was taken more by it's beautiful design than anything else. It realy stands out in a crowd. But sometimes looks can be deceiving. Fortunately, not in this case. This machine uses Nespresso pods, jewel like compact capsules of highest quality coffee from around the world. There are 40 pods,(10 each from 4 of the 12 blends) included in the box and also a coulple of nice cups.
To make a perfect expresso just lift the lid, pop in a pod and in next to no time you're ready to savour the flavour of probably the nicest coffee you'll ever taste. If you or your guests prefer cappuccino the machine has a patented cappuccino plus frother attached for perfect froth, again with no hassle at all.
If there is a slight downside it's that the pods have to be ordered via a freefone number or off the internet but Nestle who operate the Nespresso Club have offers from time to time and when you consider the time and effort saved the slight increase in cost is worth it. There's even a range of exclusive Nespresso accessories available on the swish looking web site, try the smart pod presentation box with a description of each blend so you can offer your dinner guests a choice.
I used to have a machine where I had to grind beans, measure the correct amount, attach the grounds holder to the machine, boil it, whisk up some hot milk, then clean up afterwards, and the end result was nowhere near as nice as the Pelican which saves me about 15 minutes every time I use it. What other system lets you make a perfect expresso while the tv ads are on and still leave your kitchen spotless for around 20p a cup?
Since I bought mine I haven't bought a single jar of instant and have taken to drinking tea at my friends houses. If you want perfect cafe style expresso or cappuccino in a flash with no mess this is the one.
