In terms of build quality, this is apparent from the moment you remove it from its packaging, with the casing made from tough ABS plastic and the metal fittings from stainless steel. The water is easily added to the tank by flipping open panel at the rear (which makes up for a low capacity overall).
Heating the water takes virtually no time. Be sure to use bottled or filtered water (if only to save the innards from lime scale).
But best of all is the coffee - fully half an espresso cup is pure crema - such is the consistency of the pods that Nespresso have developed. Frothing milk is easy (and not that noisy, as with the Koala), although, as with other machines, it helps to heat the milk first in the microwave. My only criticism is that the strength of the coffee could be better but if you select your blend carefully, this won't be an issue.
Makes great coffee, but a bit temperamental ![]()
It certainly makes a great espresso / cappuccino. Heats & froths milk quickly and pumps out an esspresso in seconds (apparently it's got quite high pressure for a home machine).
It does tend to 'spatter' the coffee sometimes - maybe I don't always get the coffee holder in correctly? Solved by holding the little cups up to the outlet (and very nice little cups they are!).
No real trouble to clean, water filling very easy (the resevoir bit just pops out).
