This book was amazing!
I always found it corny when a person says that a book is too good to put down but this time I finally see what they were talking about. This book was funny, erotic, thrilling and slightly sad mixed all together to give you such a feeling when your reading this that you wish so bad that you were Bella her self.
One of the best I have read in a long time - no spoilers. ![]()
I have just finished book 3 and it has taken me 4 days to read all 3 (Sad really) I am not usually a fan of these type of books as I am usually Horror/Sci-fi and Fantasy (Laurell K Hamilton, Sherrilyn Kenyon and Angelea Knight also many more but they are the fav's),but as this was a Christmas present I would give it a chance and the film has come out and looks good.
I started it and immediatley bought 2 and 3 when I had finished Twilight but have had to order the last in the series and am probably going to have to re-read so that I dont forget how brill this series actually is or have no finger nails left.
It is very addictive so make sure you have enough time to finish the book once you pick it up and be prepared to want to read the whole series though I am a bit of a bookworm.
Be prepared to be addicted! ![]()
After seeing this movie at the pictures (and loving it) I went straight out and bought the book. Not initially aware it was aimed at teenagers I settled down and read it cover to cover, unable to put it down.
Nobody would be more surprised than me that I enjoyed it, thrillers and crime novels are my normal choice of fiction. The building relationship between Edward and Bella was seductively absorbing as the author drew me in. In my opinion the book is always better than the film and although I loved the film, I would urge anyone who hasn't read the book please do, it is rich with detail that you would otherwise miss in this lovely story.
Whilst I would never suggest that this is the best written novel of all time and reading the reviews it's certainly got it's critics, all credit to the author, it's certainly got something addictive and compelling about it. I've already ordered the rest of the series and can't wait to read them.
Teenagers may love it, but this particular adult did too!
would appeal to the HSM generation ![]()
GET a "point horror" or similar average teen thriller, combine with a mills-and-boon, what do you get? this, people is the result.
Because in fact this is average or lesser, and i found that most of the page space is taken up in describing how B-E-A-utiful Edward is, and everytime he speaks, no, i mean EVERY SINGLE TIME, the author mentions how "silky, velvety, soft" his voice is, lest we forget...
even bella doesn't come across as altogether likeable at first, she is condescending of all the locals, her being from the big city and all, and you get the impression of a snobby so-and-so.
the pace is quite slow, i found myself on page 50, with nothing actually having happened yet, and its only towards the end there's any proper action. its definately over-rated, but i can see how teens would get into this, what with all the hype, a bit like the unexpected phenomena that the High School musical series had.
